Using engraved QR codes to connect building components to materials passports for circular construction

There is an increased need for tracking building component information through its lifecycle(s) in order to reduce risk and uncertainty reuse. Existing literature material focuses primarily on RFID location equipment. However, Quick Response (QR) codes were used this case study because of the low cost, speed implementation, accessibility. QR applied structural wooden members laser engraving. This proof concept analyzes challenges advantages associated with using as chosen technology well engraving them a permanent fixture.
